The 2001 Weekly Times Countdown
Downunder Milk Quality Awards
Winners
of the first Weekly Times Countdown Downunder Milk Quality Awards have all been
published now in the Weekly Times.

below to open lists of each region’s winners.
The winners are farms with
the lowest 5% of BMCCs across Australia. Each will each receive a diamond-shaped
plaque.
To establish the winners,
ADHIS averaged BMCCs for each month in 2000 and then ranked for more than 10,000
farms throughout Australia. Farms had to have BMCCs for 9 or more months to be
eligible. Some regions scored very well – more than 8% of Tasmanian farmers
will receive plaques.
The award was a great
collaboration between Countdown and a number of other players in the industry.
All of the dairy processing companies contributed data. The Weekly Times
provided the sponsorship and have published the winners for each region in a
series of feature articles.
Most winners will be
receiving their plaques at supplier meetings of their dairy companies. Keep an
eye out to congratulate clients with a new plaque on the gate or dairy wall. And
the award will continue, so watch out for it again next year.
