Teat disinfectants must be registered

All teat disinfectants on the Australian market must be assessed and registered by the National Registration Authority. This ensures that the product has demonstrated its effectiveness, safety with respect to human and animal health, environmental impact and its likely impact on trade.

Teat disinfectants are registered for your protection - so if someone suggests a new approach ask them right up front "Is it registered?" If it isn't then walk away - it's not worth the risk.

Registered products must display their NRA Approval Number on the label. The NRA maintains a list of registered products on its website at www.nra.gov.au, so you or your adviser can check the product if you are uncertain.
