Anne trained as a vet, worked in a mixed practice in Tasmania for a couple of years and then moved to the Victorian Department of Agriculture and spent a lot of time on Johne’s disease diagnosis and research.

Since May 1999 she's been with Countdown Downunder as the project’s scientific officer. Her first task was to help put together a national cell count story. Thanks to help from the statisticians at the Australian Dairy Herd Improvement Scheme this was straightforward and the results were shown in the last issue! The remainder of 1999 was spent pulling together contributions from more than 30 mastitis and milk quality experts into the Countdown Technotes – a publication that explains the science behind the Farm Guidelines.

Her challenge over the next 12 months is to work out the impact that Countdown has had in the dairy industry.
